Purpose

A significant role within the Iberdrola Global Offshore business, this role will assist Site and New Projects Teams in the management and development of their budgets. This role will include working closely with Contracts, Site, Control, Insurance and Procurement

Belonging to the O&M Services Team and Reporting to the Head of O&M Services the Lead OPEX Manager will develop OPEX for projects under different phases of development working closely with the O&M Package Managers, building and analysing yearly budgets and evaluating P&L for operational projects. This role will be responsible for identifying, assessing and creating procedures, to support site functions. In addition, the individual will be the back-office support to Sites Team to manage OPEX risks and optimise the O&M yearly budget.

The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require travel to various locations in the UK and overseas. The role requires the individual to manage multi-disciplinary teams and the individual should be prepared to manage teams working at different project locations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the development of OPEX for projects under development working closely the O&M Package Leads.
  • Provide full support to Site Teams during budget preparation and revisions.
  • Evaluates financial impact of strategic choices and suggests alternatives for O&M.
  • Manage team during monthly closings to have a right allocation of costs and P&L accounts for those operational projects.
  • Provide proactively recommendations and advice on OPEX management.
  • Responsible for controlling OPEX and ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Lead review of VOWD, Opex/Capex Accruals, Budget, Forecast and variance analysis.
  • Manage electricity power agreements for operational projects. Ensure correct electricity measurements and liaise with Control Department for the invoicing procedure.
  • Ensure that Site and Back Office Teams during procurement processes apply SPR best practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for development and delivery of financial and commercial reporting for senior management.
  • Responsible for providing monthly commentary on the business results & the best estimate.
  • Support to the O&M Package Leads and Management analysing and benchmarking our operational results.
Skills and Requirements

A strong understanding of financial, commercial and business processes and principles, results orientated with excellent analytical, business planning and communication skills. An experienced and proactive Manager with flexibility and effective capacity for leading others in a rapidly changing multicultural matrix environment.

The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines ensuring all deliverables are fulfilled on time to meet/exceed objectives. Good interpersonal and negotiating skills as well as excellent written and communication skills. Effective capacity for change and experience of leading others through change.
 
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Degree level qualification
  • Experience in managing high skilled teams
  • Significant experience in cost control in big engineering projects or accounting.
  • Significant postgraduate experience in industry with significant experience in Offshore Wind
  • Strong ability to manage own performance, with a significant focus on delivery and an ability to balance a varied and challenging workload, whilst producing high quality results in demanding timeframes
  • Strong command of English, both verbally and written
  • IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software (SAP is desirable)
  • Flexible to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites in a number of countries thought northern Europe and USA, particularly Germany, France, Spain and England.
What We Offer

This is a Permanent contract. Salary for this role will be from £62,000 per annum. Other benefits for this role include a performance related bonus up to 20%, family cover health care and perk car allowance.
