We currently have vacancies for Senior Data Architects (Traditional) based in our dynamic new headquarters in Glasgow City Centre. As a Senior Data Architect, you will be responsible for the design and architecture for the Data Insight platform within the ScottishPower Retail business.





You will manage a Team with responsibility for capturing the requirements and making recommendations for functional design reference models, to ensure that data is provisioned in an efficient, reliable and secure but importantly enduring manner. With the introduction of new technologies (including a new Hadoop Platform on Microsoft Azure), you should embrace change and ensure that any developments are approached with similar disciplines as you do for the current traditional architecture. An understanding of the business key processes will be required, alongside the wide systems business infrastructure. As a result, ScottishPower Retail can stay abreast of the changing market dynamics and take opportunities to enhance our data asset to drive value and customer growth.



Skills and Requirements



You should be educated to degree level in marketing, computing or a relevant numeric discipline, with a strong understanding of the Retail Business. With your excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, we are looking for an analytical individual who is confident in challenging convention based on sound rationale and judgement. Due to the nature of the role, you should be able to prioritise work and deliver results whilst managing multiple stakeholders and competing demands within a rapidly changing environment.


 To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate skills/ knowledge and/ or awareness of:


  • Informatica
  • Data Warehousing
  • Data Modelling
  • Oracle (on Exadata)
  • SQL

This is a permanent full-time position based in Glasgow City Centre with a competitive starting salary depending on experience and qualifications.
