Senior Business Analyst

Supporting delivery of SMART/Industry change projects, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for capturing business requirements and supporting the development and testing process through to successful implementation of projects. Providing expertise regarding SMART/industry business processes and supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring the business solution performs effectively, the Senior Business Analyst will develop specialist application knowledge, mentor Business Analysts and manage user acceptance testing and responsibility for governance processes.

  • Evaluate new requirements in SMART/Industry terms including capture, documentation and analysis.
  • Ensure all requirements are met by proposed solution and that technologies are adopted in line with Iberdrola’s technology blueprint.
  • Identify issues through control reporting and analysis and produces change controls or incidents as necessary.
  • Input business/technological expertise to inform decisions on solution requirements.
  • Undertake end-to-end project management responsibilities across full project lifecycle for small projects, including project governance and control which include maintenance of project governance systems.
  • Support management of suppliers.
  • Manage testing of new developments, including the development of test plans/scripts, performing tests, documenting test results and the management of defect resolution with suppliers.
  • Provides input to business cases.
  • Mentoring/management of Business Analysts
  • Ensure stakeholders (Operations Managers and below) are adequately informed of project delivery, also stakeholder management of Front Line Reports.
  • Identify industry best practices.
Skills and Requirements

We are looking for candidates with an expert knowledge of systems delivery and the project life cycle, as well as an ability to operate in multiple delivery stages including business requirements, design and testing. Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills will be key for the job.


To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:

  • Business/IT qualification
  • Knowledge/experience of Utility industry preferably within SMART Metering
  • Experience of systems project delivery
  • Business Analysis qualification/experience
  • Project Management qualification/experience
What we offer

This is a Permanent contract. Salary for this role will be from £39,800 per annum.
