About Our Role:


The Lead Commissioning Manager is a critical role within the Offshore Business focussing on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects in the UK and overseas, working with Multinational Joint Venture Partners and Contractors ensuring that SPR’s/Iberdrola position is suitably protected.


Belonging to the Project Services Function and reporting to the Commissioning Department Manager, the Lead Commissioning Manager will be responsible for defining large offshore wind project commissioning strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating and managing multi-million (GBP/EUR/USD) offshore commissioning contracts; planning and implementing large scale commissioning campaigns; leading the commissioning phase including management of multiple offshore contractors and associated interfaces, defining company and business standards and acceptance criteria, and ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied.


You’ll be managing large scale Commissioning activities and will make key decisions from a senior global perspective across the offshore portfolio. The individual will be the leader and sole responsible of the Project Commissioning Team and therefore the main person responsible for the commissioning in the project.  

What You'll Do:


You will be the most senior member of the project commissioning team, responsible for ensuring that our offshore windfarm projects are commissioned on time and in accordance with project specifications. 


We will look to you to plan the commissioning tests of the project, creating a detailed programme of works and communicate effectively with the rest of the project team, package managers and suppliers acting as the main point of contact for all matters relating to the commissioning in the project. 


You’ll also prepare and review tender documents, including commissioning test to be performed, contractors’ scope of works, costs and programme according to our standards and specifications. 


Provide regular reports on commissioning status and minimise variations of the program and manage the variation process while providing technical support advice and instructions to various contractors and others.


What You'll Bring:


The ideal candidate for our role will have proven expertise at a senior level, in HV commissioning construction or design of substations, transmission lines or power plants with experience in the offshore renewables business being essential.


We will look for you to have expert knowledge or the specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of electrical and mechanical plant apparatus, and control & protection equipment on transmission networks.


Proven experience in leading and management of teams and senior level is required with the ability to work, manage teams and manage the decision-making process under pressure and to tight deadlines.
