Manager - Real Estate Transactions (REN 8245)

Overview

The Real Estate Transaction Manger is responsible for the team of individuals that handle all real estate lease related transactions for the company.  This includes initial processing of all new land agreements and providing landowner support for Avangrid Renewables’ Wind, Solar, and Thermal assets in development, construction, and commercial operations.  The Manager will ensure that lease and contract abstractions are entered into the land system properly, vendor set up in completed in SAP, assistance and support is provided to landowners, and support is provided to the various internal and external partners of Land Management. 

Responsibilities
  • Land Records
    • Work with legal department and team to ensure proper contract interpretation
    • Ensure accurate portfolio management of over 60 renewable energy projects with over 4,000 associated lease agreements
    • Support team to analyze and research lease related inquiries in support of external customers and internal stakeholders
  • Compliance
    • Enforce internal processes and procedures while supporting internal controls and external audits
    • Ensure payments are issued accurately and on time and that daily transactions run smoothly
  • Records and System Management
    • Maintain landowner contact information and land ownership records
    • Help identify and design system enhancements and improvements
    • Improve overall system layout and functionality, allowing for greater efficiency and more accuracy in lease transaction processing
  • Leadership
    • Inspire and encourage the team to succeed by setting goals and defining initiatives while providing guidance to team members on best practices
    • Develop long-term strategies for savings and efficiencies
    • Identify areas of improvement and pursue resolution
    • Provide support to legal department including historical knowledge, documentation, and payment history
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of real estate laws and principles, leasehold portfolio management, and contract interpretation
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with land and/or real estate contracts
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, (i.e. Business, Accounting, etc.) or equivalent combination of technical training & experience.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a high performance company
  • Strong written/oral communications skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization (hourly, management and officers)
  • Strategic orientation with excellent planning, organizing skills, flexibility, and customer focus.
  • Computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, management and reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with renewable energy land agreements
  • Oregon Notary Public (or willingness to obtain certification)
