Responsibilities
Establish and maintain centralized Corrosion Control & Damage Prevention
programs at
Berkshire Gas. Responsible for coordination of bargaining unit employees
and outside
contractors performing tasks associated to the Cathodic protection
system & the Damage
prevention programs. The supervisor will be in responsible for
compliance with Federal code
and State Regulations associated to both Damage Prevention and Corrosion
Control. Review
and communicate program metrics & performance to management team.
Provide review and
guidance on operational best practices. Responsible for electronic
corrosion data inspection
processes and inspection databases. Oversee the damage prevention
program including
scheduling, tracking and reporting according to Berkshire gas Work
Practices/Gas Operating
Procedures.
Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, tracking and
reporting a statewide
Damage Prevention Program for Berkshire Gas to insure protection against
any damages that
could impact the Berkshire gas facilities. May interact with regulatory
agencies, local
municipalities, Massachusetts Dig Safe, Industry Organizations, and
third-party contractors to
review problems/concerns and ensure compliance. Perform damage
investigations on any
damages that occurs within the system. The supervisor will support gas
field operations and
other departments within the Avangrid organization & execute other
duties as requested.
Skills and Requirements
Ø Associate degree in a Technical field of study with a minimum of 5
years of technical
experience in natural gas industry or related construction experience.
Ø High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of
experience in natural
gas industry or related construction experience.
Ø Bachelor’s degree or higher with minimum of 4 four years of related
experience in gas
operations
Skills/Abilities:
Ø Technical skills in the field of corrosion control and knowledge of
gas distribution.
Ø Good oral and written skills.
Ø Teamwork orientated.
Ø Technical problem-solving abilities.
Ø Ability to manage complex databases.
Ø Must obtain appropriate licenses, certificates, and operator
qualifications for work performed.
Ø Must be able to read mechanical drawings and be able to update mapping
records.
Ø Must be proficient in the use of computer technology (iPad, laptop,
etc...)
Ø Must be available for response during and after hour emergencies and
critical assignments.
Ø Must have knowledge of the distribution system and understand the
construction and
operation of Distribution Division equipment and tools
Ø Must be able to obtain NACE Certifications.
