Reporting to the Director – Physical Security and Fire Protection
The Senior Manager Physical Security Programs is responsible for managing all aspects of AVANGRID’s Physical Security Programs, including, but not limited to Security Technical Services (STS), Security Operations Centers (SOC), Project Management Office (PMO), Badging and Frameworks/Budgets. The Senior Manager Physical Security Programs will interact closely with strategic business partners, such as Operational Smart Grids, Electric and Gas Operations and IT. This position will manage the maintenance and support programs for all electronic and computerized security systems used for access and video security, as well as non-technical security systems. Management of the SOC will include ensuring that standard operating procedures are in place and followed and establishing new procedures as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for Physical Security OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
Responsibilities
SECURITY MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Manager Physical Security has responsibility across all Avangrid businesses. Create and execute strategies to ensure timely completion of security projects. Develop and review metrics to drive performance improvement. Respond immediately to security-related incidents and provide a thorough post-event analysis. Participate as Deputy Incident Commander for Physical Security under the Avangrid Unified Incident Response Plan. Manage a diverse team of security professionals. Manage security program team for major programs and projects. Act as a key liaison between upper-level management and staff. Establish and maintain liaison with senior officers of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and regulatory agencies. Oversee and provide information to security investigators and administrative staff. Assess, test and select new security products and technologies. Prepare cost estimates and identify integration issues. Oversee contracts for contractor support, such as guard services, security integrators, etc. Support regulators and compliance standards. SOFT SKILLS: Ability to provide daily collaboration with all levels of employees from senior management to engineers and analysts, as well as outside vendors. Demonstrate proof of outstanding leadership, oral and communication skills. PREFERENCES: CPP, PSP and/or PMP Certifications are preferred. Guard force management experience. Large scale access control/badging experience. TRAVEL: Up to 25%. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Supervisory/Management, leadership experience in a Physical Security environment. Bachelor’s degree in relevant major, or Associate degree in relevant major and 7 years work experience in Physical Security (Corporate, Government and/or Military), or 10 years of work experience in Physical Security (Corporate, Government and/or Military). Working knowledge and hands on experience with the design, installation and testing physical security devices and networks, to include cameras, access readers, glass breaks and other intrusion detection devices. Working knowledge and experience with Security Operation Centers. Working knowledge and experience with large, complex budgets. Strong verbal and written communications skills. 25% travel required.
