Role Summary:

Avangrid is looking to hire a full time Intelligence Analyst for our Information and Intelligence Team. The candidate will be responsible for helping Avangrid develop threat intelligence and mitigating risks impacting the business. The candidate will work cross-functionally with analysts from different parts of the organization and their analytic insights will be applied to make Avangrid and its customers more secure.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Intelligence Analyst will be part of a dynamic, growing team, with an ability to integrate all source intelligence gained from internal incident response, insider investigations, tactical cyber and physical threat actors, and strategic geopolitical risks. The successful candidate will develop analytic products, present a clear, measurable value proposition, and drive business outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and produce analytic products that are derived from internal and external customer requirements, resulting in specific recommendations or prescriptive security controls.

• Lead analytic projects from start-to-finish, prioritizing time, conducting data analysis and effectively communicating results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Perform daily technical data collection to product detection, defenses and derive a profile of threat actors

• Provide awareness of changes in trends to leadership and incident responders

• The ideal candidate for this role will have strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly and concisely document findings to report to constituents

• Work closely with investigative staff, cyber incident response, red team, data protection teams, corporate security, and executive leadership to drive business outcomes.

Develop assessment plans and measures of performance/effectiveness.  Conduct strategic and operational effectiveness assessments as required for cyber events.  Determine whether systems performed as expected and provide input to determine operational effectiveness

Develop, collect, aggregate, and report performance physical security metrics and cybersecurity risk metrics.

Interact with an emerging collective of internal (Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT)) and external (Intelligence Community, State and Federal level law enforcement) defense relationships.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work related technical capability

Desired Characteristics:

• An understanding of APT and other associated tactics

• Background in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources, detailing the results and preparing substantial analysis products

• Adept with Microsoft products to include advanced Excel data/spreadsheet manipulation

• Strong ability to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversight

• Exceptional critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills that properly qualify assessments with concise, relevant, and accurate communications

• An understanding of APT (nation states), Cyber Crime, Hacktivism and other associated actors
