Purpose

This role acts as a consultant to support the Electric Operations business areas with cost management and business analytics. Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting critical operational, productivity and efficiency metrics. Performs complex studies and analyze data to identify gaps and possible improvements. Advise business areas regarding historical trends and analysis to assist in developing mitigating solutions for closing and/or reducing budget, efficiency, and productivity gaps. Maintain scorecards specifically measuring gains through cost management disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Management and Business Analytics. Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting critical operational, productivity and efficiency metrics. Performs complex studies and analyze data to identify gaps and possible improvements. Advise and act as consultant to Business Areas regarding historical trends and analysis to assist in developing mitigating solutions for closing and/or reducing budget, efficiency, and productivity gaps. Maintain scorecards specifically measuring gains through cost management disciplines.
  • Process Analysis and Optimization. Performs complex business process analysis and design for Electric operations. Provides input and supports planning and prioritization for business process related activities, including developing the unit level plans and integrating those plans with corporate plans. Identifies processes for improvement, documents existing processes, identifies and analyzes gaps between current processes and the desired state, designs new processes, develops process performance measures, and plans the transition to a new process. Maintain scorecards specifically measuring gains through process improvement.
  • Utilizes advanced business analytics tools to develop and publish costs and performance dashboards for use by Management.
  • Lead special projects, participate on project teams, and assist with ongoing T&D operations continuous improvement efforts along with business transformation improvement efforts.
  • Assist and support emergency restoration efforts as needed.

Skills and Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, economics, or engineering with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in finance, project management or related subject matter preferred. 
  • Associates Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience required.

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced PC skills including spreadsheet, database management, and SAP transactions.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of at least one of the following business functional areas: electric operations, gas operations, customer service operations, or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage.
  • Self-directed and demonstrates initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
