Lead Analyst - Insurance (Property(

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director, Insurance & Risk, this position is involved in all aspects of the oversight, management, structure, design (financial and other) and negotiation of Corporate Property Insurance and Risk Financing Programs.  Candidate must have the ability to work independently, have a background in property insurance, property claims management with knowledge of reserve setting, claim valuation and impacts on financial reporting.  Candidate must have knowledge of property insurance policies/insurance contract structures, property insurance terminology, meanings and intent of coverage – and understand approaches to property valuation.  Candidate should have Experience with Business Interruption, Delay in Start-up, Builders All-Risk Construction and related program concepts.   Position also requires the ability to understand financial statements and recommend and execute strategies for risk control and risk mitigation – including the execution of capital projects and other corporate development initiatives.  Position will play a critical role managing, collaborating and working closely with our Casualty Insurance Brokers and Consulting Service providers.

Monitoring of industry trends and insurance market conditions for managing and covering assets under property insurance programs and risk financing structures.

Analysis of contracts (construction, financing) and issuance of recommendations on risks and insurance

Analysis of incident / loss histories and a preparation of loss projections with recommendations

Identification, quantification and monitoring of Property risks.   Review/Prepare  Maximum Loss projections and  risk maps;  development of loss scenarios and risk/risk mitigation management strategies -

Participation in Due Diligence processes related to acquisition or sale of assets or companies, new projects

 

Skills and Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Risk, Engineering or a related field is required
 
Must be willing to travel as position requires.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Candidate must have strong negotiation and follow-through skills.

Candidate must demonstrate that they are professionally mature and understand importance of role

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with analytical competence as required to interact with management and external consultants.

Must possess the ability to work and think independently; must also take direction and be proactive

Must be organized and be able to manage multiple assigned tasks/projects and complete assignments within specified deadlines.

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to all levels of staff and management, outside officials and agencies, and the public, expressing ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
 
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
•     Minimum of 3 -5 years of proven experience in Insurance/Risk Management or Claims – with an    emphasis on Property Lines of Coverage.

 Insurance Program Placement involving Large Assets with a Complex mix of Coverage needs 

Knowledge of risk management information systems, c casualty insurance and claims handling procedures.

Working knowledge of PC applications and mainframe databases/systems (Word, Power-point, Excel,
