Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Retirement Team, the Investment Analyst will be responsible for supporting the management and administration of over $5B in qualified and non-qualified retirement plan assets (pension, 401k, and deferred compensation).Overall responsibilities include monitoring and selecting investment managers, performance reporting and risk analysis, market research, identification of new investment opportunities, plan administration and operation, contract review, and special projects. The Investment Analyst will also be involved with creating presentations and providing updates to senior leaders and management.

  • Assist in developing investment strategy, monitoring investment performance, coordinating with external investment consultants and fund managers, and complying with investment policy guidelines
  • Meet with investment managers quarterly (or as needed) and prepare summary memo for internal distribution
  • Evaluate and review potential new investment managers, including maintaining proper documentation of due diligence and decision-making process
  • Validate performance of managers, asset classes, and portfolios on a monthly basis
  • Prepare all internal and external performance reports and reconciliations
  • Support the Fiduciary Committee in the execution of their fiduciary duties
  • Assist in monitoring adherence to approved asset allocation targets
  • Monitor funding and liquidation of investment/custodial accounts and mandates to ensure timely processing of capital calls, fee payments, and rebalancing transactions
  • Manage the creation and production of investment-related materials and reports
  • Responsible for preparation of year end investment related requests for finance, audit, and internal control (FAS 157 reconciliation, Level 1 and 2 asset sampling, disclosure footnote, etc....)
  • Provide support with investment related interrogatories from regulatory authorities
  • Identify investment trends and stay abreast of worldwide macro-economic events
  • Responsible for all defined contribution and deferred compensation administrative and operational tasks (funding, eligibility, corrective issues, non-discrimination testing, match true-up, annual audit, plan document maintenance, etc.…)
  • Manage external vendor relationships (investment managers, consultants, trustees/custodians)
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as needed

 

 

Skills and Requirements

Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, plus at least 5 years’ related experience in investment management and/or defined contribution administration
  • MBA or other postgraduate related degree
  • Demonstrated ability preparing detailed reconciliations, presentations, and complicated financial analysis
  • Experience conducting investment due diligence on investment managers and analyzing/attributing investment manager performance
  • Experience working in a global organization
  • Intermediate to proficient Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced capability in SAP preferred
  • General knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations
  • Strategic, creative thinker focused on process improvement and harmonization
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal resources, external vendors, and stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Understanding of processes, procedures, and internal controls
