Information Security Analyst


Orange, CT, US


Key Responsibilities:

Work with users to discuss security issues and gathering incident data

and review of security violations.

Assist in monitoring security events for IT infrastructure and perform

associated analysis, escalation, remediation, and incident


Assist in the maintenance of the security vulnerability scanner and

support the overall threat and vulnerability process

Assist in the research and development of new security technologies that

keep UIL's security profile up to date and relevant.

Maintain awareness of information security threats, industry standards,

and best practices.

Work with the Cyber Security team to ensure security policies and

procedures are being followed and documented.

2 years experience in the Information Security Field or related


Knowledge of Firewalls, IPS, Networking, Vulnerability Scanning Tools,

Vulnerability Management, Operating systems.

Experience with cyber incident remediation

Knowledge or previous experience in the following areas is highly

desirable: cyber security, computer forensics, computer science,

computer networks, telecommunications.

Must be able to apply knowledge to prevent or mitigate exposure and

detect potential compromise through event analysis.

Must be able to work both independently and with teams and clearly

communicate technical issues

Must be able to create and/or maintain written documentation and Visio


Experience working in a regulated utility or other regulated industry

(NERC, SOX, GLBA, PCI,) preferred.

Certifications such as CCSP, GIAC, CISSP, Security+ are

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications: (minimum qualifications for assignment to this job)

Education: BS/BA Degree Experience:

BS/BA degree in an IT related discipline preferred. Will consider

additional years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree



Information Security Analyst will assist in the Planning,

implementation, upgrade, monitoring of security measures for the

protection of

computer networks and information. Ensure appropriate security controls

are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic

infrastructure. Advocate for security awareness and education to the

organization. May respond to computer security breaches and
