Purpose


This position, in the Conservation & Load Management (CLM) Department, is responsible for the management of vendor contracts and payments within CLM. The job will involve working with internal business areas, including, but not limited to, procurement, legal, cybersecurity, controls, marketing, sales, regulatory, the CLM program and product delivery team, and senior management to ensure all contracts are current and vendors are being paid on time.  Success requires an understanding of legal documentation, Avangrid purchasing procedures, and the ability to manage deadlines consistently.  This position is based in Orange, CT, on a Hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities


The Contract Manager will be primarily responsible for the management of all aspects of contracts, from development of the tender, including consolidation of documentation, elaboration of RFP, Bids Commercial Review, definition of Award Scenario strategy; to management of valid frameworks or Purchase Orders, including contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders, customer support, identification of the start of the next renewal process, etc.  The Contract Manager will work directly with other Programs and Products Managers in CLM to collect details necessary to process purchasing requests.
The Contract Manager will maintain tracking and reporting on all active vendor contracts, frameworks, purchase orders, invoice processing, manage record retention schedules, and develop and maintain a Contract Library for CLM in CT, MA and NY.

Among other responsibilities the Contract Manager will work on the overall annual purchasing plan: supervising and coordinating with the CLM team and Procurement, and develop and implement the CLM contract strategy with a focus on reducing administrative burden and increasing Supplier Diversity.  CM will also be assigned process improvement tasks to support the Operations team goals.

Skills and Requirements
 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or military service, with a minimum of 3 – 5 years' direct experience in managing vendor contracts.  Electric & gas utility industry knowledge is preferred, especially within the energy efficiency industry.


Skills/Abilities:  Results oriented with strong critical and creative thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.  Preferred computer skills (SAP ERP Purchasing functions, Microsoft Office and Office365, especially Excel, TEAMS, PowerBi).  Attention to detail with strong ability to stay focused and complete tasks.  Communicate with the ability to:  present   complex, technical topics to internal and external audiences of various sizes and knowledge levels, write purchasing requests, emails, reports, and other documents in a clear and concise manner to ensure program delivery from a business and regulatory perspective, read and interpret tariffs, regulatory orders, federal/local regulations, and reports.  Strong cross functional team skills, desire to serve co-workers and provide customers with excellent service. Proven ability to work independently and at all levels of the organization.
