Transportation Logistics Planner - Offshore (REN 8244)

Responsibilities

 

Working in the Vineyard delivery team, this role is co-responsible for the delivery and assurances of the transfer of custody, transport, marshalling port operations, offshore installation and takeover of all elements. Work in compliance with industry and company standards, and Health, Safety and Environment regulations and guidelines, including the management of the contractor to gain timely MWS/CVA acceptance. All this from the Client’s perspective; firstly representing it during the tender process, and later in other subsequent activities such like contract negotiation, preparation works, etc., and potentially to be extended to execution phase for managing the appointed contractor.

The person assigned to this role shall coordinate within the project (Vineyard) and across-projects (with similar roles in other projects) to ensure delivery as per objectives and company standards (incl. knowledge transfer).

Responsibilities

Analyse, recommend and optimise offshore installation and logistic concepts and methodologies from early design up to the offshore campaign

Co-responsible for the development of Transport and Installation strategy aspects of Vine Yard Offshore Wind Farm.

Manage Offshore installation contractor, vessel supplier and interface with MWS including cross discipline cooperation with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and other projects team personnel.

Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance with regulations, industry standards and company policies.

Planning of foundations transport and installation, consistently with other project areas, and implementation of the plan.

Reporting at project level to package and project management.

Assurance of Transport and Installation standards for the delivery by the contractors, since the tender and contract negotiation stages, up to preparation for execution, and potentially to extend up to actual execution.

Delivery of all technical, management and administration tasks, including production of documents, attendance to meetings, reports, technical evaluations, specifications, alternatives assessments, site inspections, etc., as required.

Coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to relevant Design and Supply packages, MWS consultant, CVA, installation analysis, project’s planner, Consents, Maritime Authorities, Port Authorities, etc.

Collaborate as required in technical, management and administration activities for the project and company’s portfolio.

Coordinating with Head of Department for assurances, use, compliance and production of company standards, knowledge transfer, line management, etc.

Production of regular reports.

Continuous knowledge sharing including regularly updated Lessons Learnt registered with the line department. Carryout HAZID/HAZOP for installation equipment design and offshore installation operations. Review Design Risk Assessments for specialised equipment

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor degree and professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline –

Mechanical/ Marine Engineering or Naval Architectural.

Relevant experience in Offshore projects.

Experience in Offshore Wind preferable.

Experience in Offshore O&G positively assessed.

Experience tendering, negotiating and managing Transport and Installation contracts.

Heavy lifting, port and marine operations experience essential.

Health and Safety legislation relevant to offshore operations and heavy lifting.

Implementation of quality assurance and environmental processes.

FIDIC YB contracts.

Risk Management for offshore construction activities / MWS acceptance.

Able to work in multi-cultural and inter-disciplinary teams.

Advanced user of Microsoft Office

Intermediate user of CAD software.

Appetite to undertake research and analyze problems from first principles.

Commercial awareness is essential.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Proactive attitude facing Contractor and driving success is essential

Strong technical skills and problem solving ability
