Lead Analyst - ISO & Regulatory Support

Responsibilities
Coordinate and interface between the company and various ISOs/regulatory bodies to ensure the companies interests and needs are protected. Provide recommendations to management on proposed new rules and modifications of existing rules that are in the best financial and operational interests of the company. Attend various meetings.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
1. Advance, support and protect company’s business interests with active, ongoing participation in key ISO-related activities, particularly those involving the energy markets, planning, operations and reliability for the NYISO, PJM Interconnection and ISO-NE. (30%)
2. Initiate, evaluate and formulate business / market rules, policies and procedures that encourage fair, efficient, and rational markets, consistent with ISO Agreements and all applicable Tariffs, Reliability Rules and other governance. Support efforts to resolve cross-border seams issues that affect the energy markets in New York. Coordinate and communicate seams-related efforts and progress with the ISO Issues Team. (20%)
3. Foster business relationships and maintain key industry contacts that can help support critical company positions. Work closely with the RTOs / ISOs to enhance our understanding of relevant business and operations practices. Continue to communicate effectively and persuasively articulate and clarify our company positions to others. (20%)
4. Articulate company positions and facilitate formal responses for legal, regulatory, governmental, and quasi-regulatory agencies, including (but not limited to): FERC, NERC, Public Service Commissions, MAAC, NPCC, state agencies, etc. Continue to increase knowledge of energy markets and RTO / ISO organizations, in general. (20%)
5. Participate in external technical study groups or task forces. Participate in ISO Issues Team discussions on topics to present meeting information and concerns as to help formulate RGE/NYSEG issue positions. Communicate back to the meeting groups the RGE/NYSEG position and concerns. (10%)
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
