Analyst - Operations & Compliance AMI


Augusta, ME, US


  • Responsible for the daily operations of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Network,  AMI Head End System (HES) and other Operations Technologies responsibilities to include network monitoring, scheduling, system maintenance, analysis, and reporting.
  • Responsible for first level network troubleshooting support to meet business requirements and works closely with departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the testing of AMI and Operations Technologies' technical domain in support of system patches, upgrades and maintenance.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of AMI network data, asset information and system performance reporting.
  • Meets procedures and reporting required by governing entities and utilizes data to assist in the troubleshooting of network and/or Infrastructure problems.
  • Support network, data, system enhancements, reporting and operational requirements in the AMI HES, AMI Network and other applications in Operations and Compliance. Responsible to operate the technical domain to achieve attainment of system performance, availability, recoverability and all compliance requirements. (20%,P)
  • Supports solutions and/or configuration changes to meet ongoing end user requirements.  Supports system changes required by business requirements, technical criteria, data management, security management and other aspects as identified.  (20%,P)
  • Supports the implementation of configuration and ad hoc/custom reporting of HES and other Operations and Compliance system data. Supports integration between the AMI Network/HES database to web and program applications, system upgrades and issue resolution with vendors. (20%,P)
  • Supports end users and process owners to understand ongoing requirements (changes, modifications, improvements) and supports network, data, system automation, web service, integration integrity with Operations Technologies, IT and business users.  Provides timely and accurate solutions to the business areas, including tracking and addressing unresolved user requests.  (20%,P)
  • Supports creating and maintaining documentation, change management principles, data integration, data trend analysis, management and integration of different data sources, data mining, training and compliance material.  (20%,P)
Position Requirements


  • 5 years + relevant operations experience
  • AMI, networking, RF experience preferred


  • NERC Certification as appropriate


  • Associate degree preferred in Computer Science, IS or related field.
  • Equivalent work experience may be substituted

  • Ability to provide expedient and detailed support to user community.
  • Ability to provide technical support to field personnel, Meter System
  • Operations and other support areas.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others and have strong team skills.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision with ability/willingness to own the system.
  • Strong PC, network and system skills.
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work others in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, good judgment and resourcefulness to work under pressure meeting deadlines as required.
